After a 21 hour flight, and arrival in Berlin, our immediate thoughts turned to food. Berlin has a great deal of variety, and our initial ride to our accommodation turned up pizza, burgers, kebab shops, currywurst and more. So our first stop, tired as we were, was a local Italian restaurant called Pepe Nero.
Pepe Nero is a quaint little restaurant at Bötzowstraße 30, just around the corner from where we are staying. the atmosphere is rustic and traditional, even the menus have wooden covers.
Menu options are what you’d expect from a great Italian place – Pizza and pasta, with some specials (which we were in too much of a pizza mood to look properly). Good wine, beer and spirit selection (with both on tap beers and bottles). Gemma ordered a Margarita while I went all out with a Pepe Nero. This is the result:
Overall, this was a good experience. The staff seemed a little distracted (there was a wine delivery while we were there) but overall if you want classic Italian in Berlin, this checks all the boxes.
